Conquistador H, 2002 Holsteiner gelding. 16.3h, By Contigo M out of Juliette/Lemgo/Out of the East xx. Contigo M is by Cassini I and out of a Calypso I mare. Contigo M won his stallion approval test with an all time record score. Juliette is a half sister to Le Samurai, eventing *** Horse of the Year in 2005. Conquistador H's pedigree mirrors the famous Cassini I/Landgraf I cross which produced such winners as Olympic champion, Cavalor Cumano.
This seven year old son of Contigo M displays the talent, flexibility, and big stride expected from his breeding. He has started his A show career in the Summer of 2008 with good ribbons in the Low Adult/Children's Jumpers (1.05m) at High Prairie. In November 2008 he was champion of his training level division in his indoor debut at Show For Champions in Denver. He had all clear rounds, including in the schooling ring. With his beautiful gaits and quiet, steady disposition, he could also be star in the dressage ring or eventing, but his heart is in the jumper ring. He is very intelligent and exudes personality. He is currently schooling 4'6"- 5'. He jumps in excellent form and is very forward and adjustable. He has been champion or Reserve at all the shows he has entered, most recently, co-champion in the 1.20 meters at Colorado Springs in 2009. In August 2009, he placed fourth in his first Mini-prix at 1.3 meters with two fast clear rounds.
